  • Babe for the Day: Darren Criss

Posted on November 14th, 2010 brenna 2 comments

Although this babelicious plays a gay guy on Glee, I definitely believe he’s a total babe – gay or not.

Darren Criss, who plays hottie Blaine, Kurt’s soon-to-be-boyfriend on Glee, is actually a great discovery for me.

I absolutely adore his Teenage Dream performance on Glee’s 6th Episode, Season 2. His performance was damn good, he’s voice is amazing and god, when he sings, his charm and charisma is definitely a scene stealer.

    AND that’s not it!

Darren Criss is PART FILIPINO, my friends, yes, he is!

This total babe is part Filipino, part Irish and damn that Filipino part of him may be what I couldn’t help missing. Okay, so maybe it was his damn good voice and “kilig” performance.

    As if that’s my climax.

Now here’s for the fun part.

    He also plays Harry Potter!

Well, he’s not Daniel Radcliffe, I know, but he plays the wizard genius in A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel, a musical version of J.K Rowling’s genius work, The Harry Potter series.

This singer, dancer, actor – obviously multi-talented babe is also one hell of a songwriter as he wrote some songs in A Very Potter Musical and ALL the songs in A Very Potter Sequel – what kind of musical genius is that! By the way, his curly hair in the musical is adorable!

Darren Criss is also the primary songwriter for 2011’s Starship show from Team StarKid.

Raise your hand if you’re totally hooked on him, because let me say, I am raising both hand and feet right now!

Hoping to see more of him, this multi-talented babelicious definitely deserves more screen time.

Who doesn’t love a guy who can sing, dance and look so charming all at the same time?

And just for the record, Darren Criss is straight off screen. Hurray for me!

  • Damon Salvatore’s (Un)Forgettable Love Confession

Where you able to watch The Vampire Diaries episode last week entitled “Rose”?

Then you must know about the last 2 minute highlight of the episode that involves Damon’s hotness and Elena’s forgetfulness.

In that 2 minute heartbreaking scene, Elena enters her room to find Damon sitting by her window, looking as tired as hell and as sad as ever.

She tells him she’s tired and he approaches her, showing her the vervain necklace she lost while Elijah compelled her to admit to the location of Katherine and the moonstone.

She asks for the necklace back but Damon pulls at it, saying he just needs to say something. She asks why he needs to say it with her necklace. He tells her it may be the most selfish thing he’s ever done.

    And then he said it:

“I love you, Elena. And it is because I love you that I cannot be selfish with you and why you can’t know this. I don’t deserve you. But my brother does,” he says in the most seriously heartbreaking tone and expression that even I can’t describe.

He kisses her forehead, “God, I wish you didn’t have to forget this,” he pauses, pushing her hair back and she looks at him with surprise and confusion in her eyes.

“But you do,” he finishes and the camera focuses on his beautiful green eyes as it waters, brimming his eyelids until a single tear falls and his eyes grow in indication of compelling her to forget.

Then he disappears, leaving Elena, forgetting everything that happened, and holding onto her necklace, now hanging from her neck, and wondering how it got there.

This scene is absolutely heartbreaking. Damon, the so-known heartless guy who would just put away all his feelings, kill anyone for no particular reason at all, make fun of Stefan and every other person worth or not worth making fun of, compel and trick anyone he could, cries over his savior, the girl who gave him a second chance at life and being human.

The scene was so perfectly crafted that I cannot help watching it over and over again. And it just never gets boring!

Indeed, this is the best scene of all time and the Vampire Diaries just seems to get better and better every episode!

How well Ian Somerhalder plays this part cannot be described. He is sexy, honest, bad-ass and absolutely charming as he delivers this heartbreaking confession that ultimately uncovers his character’s original bad side and reveals the humanity underneath the sarcasm and his non-feeling vampire heart.

He portrays sad, evil Damon Salvatore who finally admits to Elena and himself that he is in fact in love with her, even though she is head over heels for his brother. What’s even sadder is that he accepts this fact, because he feels he does not deserve her and she is too good for him.

Might this post be inspired that I’m totally hating Stefan as much as I’m in love with Damon – which is a lot and I mean – a LOT, I’m betting no one can deny that this scene was definitely the best in the episode.

Unless you count the also, very dramatic scene after stabbing Elijah and seemingly killed him, Elena and Damon share looks which seemed to be sending messages that we can only hope we know… well, that is until Stefan steps into the picture.

With an incredible soundtrack from Sleeperstar, I Was Wrong, the scene plays a perfect part for tears and broken hearts everywhere. Don’t we all want them together?

Too bad, an unspoken understanding that they probably won’t end up ever has been stated, thanks to L.J’s books.

Oh well, Ian Somerhalder aka Damon Salvatore, you are the best vampire ever – and I’m sorry, but he definitely tops whiny and sullen Edward Cullen – I didn’t mean for that to rhyme.

Have you ever seen a show where one person is SO bad-ass you actually start envying her for her role?

Well, when it comes to chasing the weirdest freakshows, jumping off terraces and on mass shooters while they restock their guns or spotting a kevlar beneath one’s shirt and shooting at the right time to keep him down, jumping off helicopters and onto an overspeeding truck, jumping onto an aircraft bound for take off and even after being almost bombed her life out, she still manages to figure out a bomber’s real problem, Chase main star, Annie Frost is one hell of a bad-ass.

Although she may have daddy issues, she is one hell of a girl to watch out for!

Beautiful, sexy as hell and the fact that she can probably kick your ass with her eyes closed, this babe is definitely my reason to watch the new police drama TV series, Chase.

Feast your eyes onto this gorgeous bad-ass babe who is quite known for her very, very, very determined and skillful ways to chasing a fugitive.

Annie Frost is played by Kelli Giddish.

  • Gossip Girl Recap S04E06 Easy J

The episode begins with Blair dreaming about someone chasing her.

Serena wakes up in Colin’s bed and quickly goes home.

Nate sees Juliet in prison and still believes her excuses despite her very obvious reasons.

Blair visits Jenny, who just arrived from Hudson for her interview with Tim Gunn and she banishes her from going out into the city. She gives her a day pass but forbids her to see anyone or go out except for her interview. She orders her minions to watch Jenny.

Chuck makes sure Jenny goes out by stealing her portfolio and having her go to the Empire to take it back. Her interview goes bad as soon as Gunn saw the make up words on her dresses that spelled WHORE and Blair meets her outside. Chuck invites Jenny’s family to a party with Tim Gunn present, telling Dan that it’s his way of making amends.

Serena talks to Colin but instead of turning him down like she planned, he talks her into dropping his class for a semester and they go to the party together, even if Serena skips entrance after talking to her mother. Colin tells her he’s crazy about her and Lily hears. Serena changes her mind and Colin tells her they can wait and get to know each other during the semester as teacher and student.

Blair hears of Jenny going to the Observer Party. She goes to the party to humiliate her but things turn around when Jenny tells GG the reason why Blair hates her. Blair is humiliated and talks to Chuck. Jenny tells her that she can’t beat her and says that Blair and Chuck used to be in love and invincible but apart, they are only headed for mutual destruction.

Nate’s father gets jumped in prison by Juliet’s brother.

Juliet breaks up with Nate and she has some kind of relationship with Colin – a paying one.

    Best Scene:

Blair and Chuck’s declares a truce. But as they held hands to shake on it, both feel something and Blair releases his hand almost immediately. As soon as she closes her door, she winces, as if to cry.

Penelope’s dress is making her look fat – or is she actually plumper?

Lily introduced herself as Lily Humphrey

Last scene with Chuck and Blair was highly electrifying.

    Best quotes:

“What have we here? Bed, unslept in, hair in missionary disarray and yesterday’s dress with today’s shame on it,” – Blair to Serena

“This isn’t congress. Accomplish something!” – Blair to minions

“If you’re here to deliver further humiliation, Dorota can sign for it,” – Blair to Chuck

“We’re holding onto the pain, because it’s all we have left. We don’t have to. We have a choice,” – Chuck to Blair

Serena’s such a slut. I honestly really like how she was in Season 1 when everything was so much simpler and she actually had real relationships. I don’t know why the writers are truly turning her into a sex puppet. I mean, seriously? All she’s ever been doing since episode 1 of this season is be with a different guy every week. This is why her current scenes are making me YAWN.

This episode has me reeling about Blair and Chuck. I love how she threw off his hand the moment she felt something – you can really feel their chemistry bouncing off the scene. This is one of the reasons why I still watch the show – there’s nothing more romantic than two people who hate each other and still be in love.

Nate is boring, I can’t believe he still hangs onto every word from Juliet. That girl is one freak away from being totaled. There are questions though, I still don’t know how Ben can text from prison and I’m still really curious about why Juliet is obsessed in some way with Serena. Although I love Katie Cassidy, she’s overstaying in Gossip Girl and her role? Not so hot.

Definitely on the lookout for more Chair scenes.
